Benjabelle Daisy Brush Tree $20 (link) – Benjabelle site / Amazon
I really like how this brush tree can be folded up and easy to use. I always need to create a contraption to ensure my brushes dry standing up and it’s such a hassle. This brush tree holds up to 14 brushes. The store does offers a couple various brush tree options.
Bunny Earrings $15 (link) – Tiny’s Fig Etsy Store
Tiny Fig’s Etsy store offers the cutest variety of earrings I have seen. They have cute animals, kawaii food and accessories.
Cards Against Humanity Game $25 (link) – Amazon
I love playing this card game. It’s similar to Apples to Apples but so much more fun.
Nars Multiple in Copacabana (link) – Amazon, Sephora, Nars
I’ve always been interested in this highlighter for it’s unique lilac tone.
Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue Perfume $ varies on size (link) – Sephora
I’ve been on quite perfume kick. The last time I went to Sephora the associate recommended this as a light and citrus scent. I love things that smell like citrus/oranges. Any other suggestions?
Pioneer Woman Cooks – Cooksbooks $20/each (link) (link) – Amazon
I love reading Pioneer Woman’s website and her recipes never fail me. I recently borrowed a year of holidays from my local library. I really liked it and would love to own copies of both her cookbooks.
Australian Magazine Frankie Subscription $117 (link)
I absolutely love this magazine and I pick it up whenever I can at SF Fog City News store. I almost never pay for American magazines because I get so many for free and most are filled with ads. However, I really recommend Frankie as it’s filled with quirky articles and it’s like me in a magazine. However I am in two minds about a subscription since it’s such a luxury item and I can get it Fog city but alas we are always a month behind.
Wayne Goss Makeup Brush $$$ (link) Beautylish.com
I have been ga-ga over this brush set for the last 3 months. The whole set costs a whopping $210 for 8 brushes. I have too many brushes to justify buying the whole set but I would love to try brushes in #02 face, #03 eyeshadow and #06 eyeshadow.
Immoral Longings Shakespeare Blank Journals $50 (link) Etsy Store
I adore how beautifully crafted her leather bound journals are with original art. I particularly like taming of the shrew and much ado about nothing’s cover art.
NYX Love in Paris Eyeshadow Palettes $10 (link) NYX / Ulta
I picked up a few these last time I was in Ulta and I really love the packaging on the palettes. They are so slim and sleek. Great for traveling! I would love to get a couple of more of these palettes – Pardon my french (green) – Be our guest maurice (purple) – you are in seine (neutrals/blue) – parisian chic (neutrals) – mon cherie (color – photo).
Urban Decay Vice 2 ~limited edition palette $59 (link) Sephora, Ulta
It’s Urban Decay new limited edition holiday palette with all new shades. It’s this palette I’ve been on the fence about. It’s got unique packaging, buttery shades but I can’t decide is there enough neutrals to combat the color? Would I use it? Do I need it? mmm….I just picked up UD Naked 3 and I can’t wait to play with that one.
Michael Kors Tote – $$$ (for example) / Bucket style tote with long handles
I’m looking for a new medium size work bag with wide opening, long handles and spacious.
I’m not stuck to this particular tote though I do like the design and I find MK bags to be sturdy. I need something leather or strongly made with straps that easily go over my shoulder. I’m still on the hunt!
Other Presents because I am a greedy girl ^_^
1. Soft winter sweaters in Juniors Medium or Women’s Small (preferably monochromatic)
2. 16X16 & 20 X 20 Pillow Insert (fluffy pillow part) because I have pillow covers but no pillows! It’s really hard to find where to buy the inserts in the city.
3. Gift cards – Forever 21, Amazon, Sephora, American Eagle, Groupon, Bath&BodyWorks…
4. A good massage in SF. Work has gotten my addicted to massages and now they are gone. So I need to find another suitable masseuses. Where?
5. A good book. It’s so weird I told people I was going to the library and they said to me, what there’s a library nearby? People still read books? What the heck…am I the only left who still reads? I like behavioral science and pyschology books but I’m always up for a good novel.
6. Large statement necklaces. I’m on a huge statement necklace kick. I just picked up a few at Forever 21 this weekend. I think that Bauble Bar has some nice ones but I’m always keeping my ones open for something colorful and sparkly.
7. A delicious fruit tea or drink mix because sometimes I don’t like lugging beverages home.
8. Perhaps someone to move my transfer 401K funds from one account to the other. I seriously can’t figure out how to do it since I switched jobs. It’s really been a pain in my rear. I wish someone else could do it or it could be streamlined. Oh woes!
9. I would like some new sturdy pots and pans like solid stock pot or medium saute pan. I feel like that 4 pc set I bought from target 3 years ago for $20 is finally going to crap out. I mean they served me well and though many meals but I think I might need a new one.
10. I will also take payment in homemade sweets, cookies and cakes <3
In exchange, I will provide hours of written rambles on makeup, food and my life. Good deal? It reminds me …I really should get to bed now.
p.s. I also really need a new pack of Hanes socks. I don’t know how it’s possible but I had 5 pairs of socks get huge holes and fall apart on me in the last 2 weeks. My house is like a sock graveyard.
p.p.s Oh I thought of more makeup things I would like to try from the drugstore…being the makeup fiend I am.
I would love to try drugstore makeup: (this items are available at your local: Target, Walmart, Walgreens, CVS)
A) Sonia Kashuk Eye on Neutral Palette $20 (here) or new LE SK Holiday Palette $30
B) Maybelline Color Elixir Lip Gloss in Celestial Coral / Rose Redefined $8 (here)
C) Milani Baked Blush in Berry Amore $9 (here)
D) Covergirl 3 in 1 foundation in Medium Beige $12 (here)
E) Jordan Twist in Shine in Candied Coral $4 (here)
p.p.p.s Ok this is the final thing, I need to buy some toys to donate for the holidays. What toys are hot now for kids? What do kids play with? I don’ t know.

The Dynamic Duo of Sophie’s Dish! E and I in the San Francisco Opera’s Lobby
Two weeks ago, we went to SF Opera to see Falstaff. (SF Opera’s Full Details on Falstaff). This would be our 2nd opera. The first being the Magic Flute that happened last year. Tonight we are going to see Barber of Seville (SF Operas Full Details on Barber of Seville). The Barber of Seville runs until 12/1/2013 so if you want to go there’s still a chance! They even have a family night with a shortened program as the opera can be too long for little ones.
The opera for a long time seemed to me to be a bit of older person’s fancy and far out of my reach. However, the SF Opera is actually very affordable. I purchased my tickets during their 50% off sale so they were around $30 each. The operas usually last about 3 hours so you definitely get your money’s worth! If you sign up for their mailing list they will email about the different sales and opera shows going on. The ticket also includes pre-opera talks that happen an hour before the event.
We both really enjoy our time in the opera. It was not at all as stuffy or boring as one might expect. It’s in this beautiful, ornate building but don’t let that intimidate you! Some people do bring out their Sunday best and make a big night of it. It’s similar to going to a play or the symphony. We just arrive in our normal work clothes since we usually hit up a weekday opera. The staff is super helpful and friendly. The actual opera was filled with tons of moments to laugh and you don’t have to be at all familiar with the opera at all to have a good time. There’s always amazing live orchestra music and compelling sets!
(Ending Scene – Falstaff, where the singers are doing their bows from the upper tiers, you can see the opera vision screen above)
Falstaff is a comedy with a moral. The main character, Falstaff thinks he’s hot stuff and tries to seduce two married women at the same time for their riches. However, he doesn’t realize the women know each other and are aware of his devious plans. The women and the townspeople soon begin to plot funny pranks against Falstaff and the story unfolds. FYI Sir John Falstaff is the most hilarious looking character! He’s got a huge belly, balding and a curly mustache! He kind of reminds me of what Santa would look like if he fell off the wagon.
I really wish I could have captured the scene when Falstaff appears in his pompous red suit. It’s so hilarious! You’ll have to check SF Opera site to see it. I couldn’t take any pictures during the actual opera but I snapped at the end to show our view. We sat in the 2nd tier which is quite high up but with Opera Vision (screen), it was still a great view. Opera Vision is a live stream of the opera with English subtitles. Falstaff was sung in Italian with English subtitles. It was about 2 hours 40 minutes long with 1 intermission. The opera goes by quite fast with lots of entertaining scenes.
There’s a couple of side plots going on while Falstaff is busy pursuing women. There’s a plot happening in parallel about one’s the women’s daughter falling in love with a employee of her father. There’s Falstaff’s henchmen egging on one’s of the women’s husband to foil the plot of seduction. There’s fairies and plots twists…and old dudes that no one wants.
Anyway the opera ends with Falstaff revealing that all the world is folly and all the figures are fun Tutto nel mondo è burla… Tutti gabbati! / “Everything in the world a jest…” and that he’s pleased is he not the only duped. He’s a fairly jolly man after being duped so often but it’s his own fault to mess with more than he can chew.
Falstaff Opera Stage
I am always amazed how they design the opera’s stage. We loved the Magic Flute’s artistic design. I was quite amazed by how Falstaff stage was the same set throughout the opera but it had all these moving parts to show scene changes. From our seats, the stage looks immense but up close it’s actually quite a small stage that’s slated upwards. The opera was a lovely night out! There’s a amazing venue, a theatrical performance, a full pit orchestra, great vocals, comedy and laughter. I highly recommend going to one!
I’m excited to see how Barber of Seville tonight!

Image of 1Password Plugin on MY PC
I think 1Password well deserves a post on my blog because it’s sort of change my life in a excellent way. I received 1Password as gift from E awhile back and as slow I can be to adopt new technology I’ve really come to embrace the program. I no longer have to remember a ton of passwords and yet everything stays secure.
1password can be purchased for ONE-TIME user fee of $50-$70 US dollars (pc/mac) for a single user and they do have discounted family licenses available for purchase. It’s available for immediate download. (Agile online store)
What is 1Password? (official website)
1Password is a password manager. They have it available for PC, MAC, internet browser plugin and mobile phones. It is this nifty tool that remember your sites’ passwords, can log you into sites, enter credit card information, fill registration forms, and easily generate strong and secure passwords. Everything is confidential, secure and in one place. It sort of short of magical.
How does 1Password work?
The way I use 1password is whenever I go to a familiar site, I login into my 1password browser plugin (seen above), I type my master password and it auto-fills the forms I need to login into the site. Whenever I go to a new site that I need to create a user profile and password, it’s just as easy! I go to my 1password generate a complex password with random assortment of letters, numbers and symbols, it auto-fills and saves my details for later use.
Is it Safe?
How safe can it be if you only have to remember 1 complex master password? This was the point made me ask E a bunch of questions because he had been using the program before me. 1password’s vault houses your passwords has multiple encryptions, de-encrypted data is never saved to disk, and the generated passwords are each unique combination. Don’t share your master password online or offline and you’ll be fine. More details on their site!
Why use 1Password?
I love using 1password because I no longer fear the security of my passwords or if one site gets hacked, I still have strong passwords in place. I use to have three tiers of passwords with some variation for each site. It was such a hassle to remember and some sites require frequent password changes! I often found myself scribbling down passwords, forgetting them or being fearful that if a site got hacked that they could piece together important private information. I no longer have these issues and I save a lot of time since now I just have 1 complex password to remember.
Bonus is that the application helps me remember exactly what sites I have a user profile in.
Who is this good for?
I highly recommend the application for anyone who uses the internet and doesn’t have a photographic memory. I currently have 153 logins on 153 different sites and the number keeps going up daily. How many sites are you a member of? How many sites do you remember passwords for? I rather use that space in my head for fun things like what is the top best cosmetic highlighters, where’s the top 5 best places to eat in the San Francisco or birthdays. Goodness know if I forget my mother’s birthday I’m in the dog house. ^^
BTW I think this would make a great gift for the coming holidays!!! It’s so practical, they’ll thank you for it.
*Application was received as gift from E, not a sponsored post. All opinions are of my own*
