(October 2013 – Makeup Favorites!)

I realized these items were tried and true due to the fact that I wrote reviews about most the items over the last couple of weeks. This are my favorites and well-loved part of my makeup collection. A lot of these I have used for months but I finally got around to taking pictures of them. ^_^

I’m trying out Luvocracy, a site where you can bookmarks and actually buy all these things I’m recommending for this month. The products are laid out in easy pin board like fashion. Do check it out as it contains all the product links. (October 2013 Favorites board)

Urban Decay Primer Potion (trial size)
When I use good eye shadow primer, I barely remember using it but I definitely do notice when I forget to use it. It’s one of those silent workhorses in my collection. I really like the Urban Decay primer potion since they’ve changed their packaging to the tube format. The product is a creamy beige consistency and blends into my skin tone. I use it on my eyes to prevent creasing and fading of eye shadows. It’s does the job for me! Also a little goes a long way, I am sure this trial size version will last me for months. I also highly recommend checking out the Lorac eye shadow primer, which I just ran out of.

Urban Decay Baked Bronzer in Baked
This bronzer provides warmth to my face and more definition. It’s really easy to use and currently on sale on UD’s site. For full review (click here).

NYX Stay Matte but not Flat Powder Foundation in Soft Beige
This is a lovely powder that’s fine milled and smooth to apply. I like using it as foundation on good skin days and a setting powder when I want a bit more coverage. For full review (click here).

Physician Formula Matte Quad in Canyon Classics
My go to products for my brows! For a full review (click here).

K-palette Tattoo Eyeliner in Black
This has been my favorite eyeliner for over a year and it’s still going strong! I use it every day. It’s easy to apply, doesn’t smudge and lasts all day. The only downside is that it can be a bit hard to find in the US but you can get it on Sasa. For more details (click here).

ELF Studio Blush in Blushin’ Rose
This ELF studio blush totally rocks my socks off. It’s only $3 and it’s perfect for a fall blush. It’s a rosy mauve tone, great pigmentation and has a fine shimmer.  Youtube’s EmilyNoel83 recommends it and I love it. I believe this can only be found on the ELF site, not available at Target.

Avon Extra Long Lasting Eye Shadow Pencils in Crystal Taupe & Amethyst
This is another Youtube’s EmilyNoel83 recommendation that is bomb. What can I say I really love her taste. I never purchased from Avon but I had to jump on these pencils. They are like the Mally eye shadow sticks but half the price! They are so easy to use, pigmented, blend-able and I haven’t experienced any creasing. I want to go buy more from the line! Stay tuned if you want to full review, I will be posting it very soon.

Skincare Routine

Sephora Triple Action Cleansing Water
This is hands down the best makeup remover I have ever used. It feel like water and removes all my makeup. I also like the pump on the container.

Hado Labo Cream Cleanser
I love the creamy texture and moisturizing effect of this cleanser. The line is new to the US and just launched at Ulta. For a full review of the skincare line (click here).

Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Lotion
I’ve been using this lotion since my mother purchase it for us in high school. This is a oldie but goodie. I like how it’s got a soothing oatmeal smell and has fast absorption.

ATOPALM Intensive Moisturizing Cream
My face tends to be very dry in San Francisco. This is my current favorite face cream. You know it’s good when you use up a large tub and you have to immediately order another one. It’s fragrance – free, very moisturizing and good value for non-drugstore face cream. I originally got it as part of my Beauty Army box. You can find it online drugstores and on Amazon. Totally worth giving a try if you are looking for intense moisturizer!

Herbal Essence Fresh Balance Clarifying Shampoo
Recently E’s brother Toby came to visit us and left some of his shampoo. Dang, it’s good shampoo! Both E and I think it smells so good and it cleans my hair properly. It’s funny because we both trying to ration the last bit. I have tried Herbal Essences brand. But I don’t know if they sell the Fresh Balance in the US. I am going to take a look next time I’m in Target!
